Wal-Mart Can't Take A Joke

Wal-Mart has fired a cashier working in its Almont, Michigan store , because, according to the former employee, he placed a joke on his My Space account suggesting that the average IQ of Americans would increase if a bomb were dropped on the discount retailer's stores.

Wal-Mart confirmed that David Noordewier no longer works at the store but commented no further.

Noordewier told the Flint Journal that it was a joke, not a threat.

And now you know why the guy is a former employee.... he wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

I'm sure WalMart knows sick humor when they see it. But let's get real- people are jumpy about bombs. It's an explosive topic nowdays. Especially for WalMart, that's doing a booming business worldwide.

Something like this could ignite a firestorm of copy-cat blogs. And we could see WalMart going up in smoke.

No, I think WalMart did the right thing. Even if it did mean they had to fire at Will... or in this case... fire (at) David.
