A new tape, by the number two man in al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahri, threatens the UK for knighting Salman Rushdie.
This is the kind of intolerance and intimidation exhibited repeatedly by extremists. Don't like something someone says about your religion? Issue a fatwa.
Don't like an editorial cartoon? Threaten the cartoonist. The newspaper. The government.
Every time these terrorists open their mouths, they reveal themselves for what they are. Close minded global bullies.
They claim to be defenders of Islam. All they do is discredit their religion. And make life even more intolerable for the bulk of Muslims, who are just trying to live their lives in peace and harmony with the rest of us.
Those Muslims who do not subscribe to these tactics need to isolate those who do. And in a very public manner. If not for altruistic reasons, then at least as a tactic of self preservation.
The fear is, if these terrorists keep pushing the non-Muslim world around in the name of religion, then the non-believers will start pushing back. This cannot be good for the law abiding members of the Islamic faith.
Keep issuing tapes, al Qaeda. The more often you do, the more you build up a resistance to you and your tactics.

Out of curiosity, I googled the term "muslims murder". (In quotes mind you so it only tags URL's with that exact phrase.)
It came up with 11,200 hits.
Muslims murder Muslims. Muslims murder tourists. Muslims murder school children. Muslims murder over cartoons.
The list goes on.
This most recent Fatwah issued over Salman Rushdie does not surprise me. We are talking about a violent people that will not rest until we all bow to their Quaran or are completely obliterated.
I'm waiting to see "moderate muslims" gather in protests against their terrorist brothers and sisters. I know the muslims are capable of mass demonstrations. The world knows it. We've seen it over the Danish cartoons. Now it's time to see the muslim population speak out and condemn terrorist behavior.
I won't hold my breath.

Surely we have all seen these tactics that are being used by these 'radical muslims' before? Yes, that's right - the bullies in the school yard. When reason doesn't work, use intimidation methods. This is just what we have seen with the cartoons, the Pope's speech, and now the knighting of Salman Rushdie. Muslims came from all over to demonstrate and call for death and destruction of some Western nations and their leaders, yet the demonstration against the most recent attacks perpetrated by 'radical muslims'by those who style themselves as 'moderate muslims' mustered a measly 1500 at a demonstration in Glasgow! Where is the outrage muslims? It's just hot air. Do you honestly think that a few posters titled 'Not in our name' are going to quell the fears of the majority population? I doubt it.
