UN Loses More Credibility

It's so hard to take the United Nations seriously.

Iran has been appointed to the UN anti-racism committee.

This is the same Iran that is calling for the destruction of the state of Israel. And which denies the Holocaust.

The same Iran, by the way, that is defying a United Nation's agency over its nuclear weapons program.

I know people who used to use drugs to get this kind of distortion of reality. But in today's reality, no drugs are necessary.

Well this is a nice little addition to Iran being appointed to the position of vice chair on the U.N nuclear disarmament committee in April 2006. Funny how you can race towards nuclear weapons while threatening to wipe out Israel and still qualify for these appointments in the U.N. Oh yes and didn’t they just try and dazzle the world saying they now have a 2000 lb smart bomb. If memory serves me then only 46 percent of the nations represented at the U.N are free from dictatorship. It is now The United nations of Arab countries and cronies and the new criteria is hate America and any country with freedom for that matter and oh yeah wipe out Israel. So I guess Iran is qualified after all in the united nations of dictatorships. Somehow when they are hanging half their youth from cranes in the street because they dared cry for freedom and run an anti holocaust /Jewish conference then the racism committee title rings a bit hollow.

"Iran has been appointed to the UN anti-racism committee." Fox guarding henhouse, anyone?

Or maybe more like birds of a feather flock together.

Have you seen who is also on this committee with Iran? Cuba and Pakistan!!!
And who appointed these people to form this committee? That's right, the UN Human Rights Committee........... comprised of? Yes, Middle Eastern and African nations. Yes, that same human rights committee that, when questioned by a representative from Israel refused to allow their question and told them that they would not allow them to appear before the committee and insult them ( the Israeli guy didn't actually get to ask a question btw.)

Surely even the dumbest of politicians can see that the UN is barely fulfilling its original mandate, and that is becoming more and more pro Arab. Let the Arab League pay their way and house them - why are we paying towards an organisation that is partial. What works for one age, does not necessarily translate to the next age.
I think the question of racism should be pointed towards this failing organisation.
