Taken seriously by Israel
Osama bin Laden's latest released audio message, where he pledges to rid Israel of the Jews, is being taken seriously by Israeli officials.
The officials note that when Israel withdrew from the Gaza, al Qaeda moved in.
Again, this shows the fallacy in the current peace strategy for the Middle East. Withdrawal means, for the Israelis, a desire to trade land for peace. But by the Palestinian and terrorist leadership as an opportunity to arm and attack Israel.
If al Qaeda is our enemy in the United States and in the United Kingdom and in Afghanistan it should be our enemy in the Gaza as well. No one criticizes the United States when it arrests terrorists in New Jersey. No one criticizes the UK when it arrests terrorists in London and Birmingham. Even the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan after 9/11 was widely supported around the world.
One must wonder, given the history of criticism as it attempts to defend itself whether Israel will be afforded the same level of support should it attack al Qaeda on its borders.
