Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura On News Talk Online On Paltalk

Ventura

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura will be my guest Monday June 16 on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com.

Ventura is author of a new book, Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me!

A former Navy SEAL, professional wrestler and movie actor Ventura’s first two books, I Ain’t Got Time to Bleed and Do I Stand Alone? were both national bestsellers. In Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me! Ventura looks back at his time as governor of Minnesota and at life and politics in America since he left office in January of 2003.

Ventura isn't particularly pleased with the candidates for president of the United States and has oft been quoted as saying, "vote none of the above."

Politics as usual riles Ventura. Among the issues he address in the book are the secret nature of government, the myth that only certain people are qualified to govern and the loss of constitutional rights in the name of the war on terror.

“When you look at how religious fanatics and corporate America are teaming up," Ventura says, "we today are on the brink of fascism.”

He finds it particularly shameful that the Bush administration, "lied to the American people in justifying our disastrous invasion of Iraq."

And he doesn't spare the Christian right, which he calls "a polarizing force" when it comes to gay rights, abortion and terrorism.

"To me," he says, "these aren’t issues. They are matters of individual freedom of choice.”

He also calls for the decriminalization of marijuana.

The book also recalls his meetings with world leaders such as Fidel Castro, Hilary Clinton, John McCain, Al Gore, Pres. Bush, Robert Kennedy Jr. and former Pres. Bill Clinton, and many others.

Hoepefully Mr. Ventura has chosen Paltalk as his venue to announce his independent run for the Presidential office. Though he would have to stop the, "vote none of the above", campaign.
