Well, apparently at Craigslist, even Alice is on the menu.
A New York City councilman is alleging ads for escort services on Craigslist are just thinly veiled solicitations for johns. And that the escorts are prostitutes.
The New York Sun is carrying councilman Eric Gioia's allegations today. Craigslist, at press time, had not yet commented.
Coincidentally, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark is my guest today at 5 PM New York time on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com. So he'll get the chance to respond to Gioia.
Correct or not, this speaks to the fundamental issue of how far government should intrude into the lives of adults.
This is not a case of child predators using the Internet. This is a case of consenting adults paying for companionship. What happens when they then close the doors, really shouldn't be the business of government.

I don't even bother using Craigslist anymore. They have made it very difficult many times as they add new and more restrictive rules. I have actually found it easier to post on places like GoGinzo.com, Kijiji.com, and Backpage.com because they are a little more liberal with their rules. Just my .02!
I have used craigslist in job seeking. I did get an interesting call back that was picked up by my answering machine. I was invited for an interview at NYU medical center. The message left an area code and a SIX digit telephone number! Anyone familiar with the movie, AFTER HOURS, will know exactly how I felt! lol
