Congressional Approval Rating Hits Record Low

For the first time since polling began, the approval rating for members of Congress has dipped below 10 percent.

Let's look at the reasons why.

The Democrats seized control of the House in mid-term elections on a promise that they would bring the troops home from Iraq. Instead, they reneged on that pledge, continuing to fund the war.

The party leadership continues to dictate votes in Congress. This is the kind of business-as-usual approach that the American people detest. They elect members of Congress to represent them.

Congress cannot seem to reach a consensus on the issues that matter most to Americans. The economic effect on their pocketbooks. Gas prices continue to rise. Grocery prices continue to rise. Congress debates.

It's time for members of Congress to start being what they were elected to be. Representatives of the people.

Isn't it sad when it is now considered naive to feel that the people we elected into office should actually represent US.

We all hate Congress. But we love OUR member of Congress.

So we keep re-electing the same people to represent us and then complain when they don't.
