Mark Harding, Christian Pastor Who Was Convicted Of Hate Crime For Speaking Out Against Islam, On Paltalk

Harding

Mark Harding, who served two years probation and was sentenced to study under an imam to learn tolerance to Islam, will be my guest on News Talk Online on Paltalk Tuesday July 15.

Harding, a Christian minister, was convicted under Canada's restrictive laws that prohibit speech that is deemed hateful to any religious belief.

Harding's conviction stemmed from his handing out pamphlets outside an Ontario high school protesting the Toronto school providing a room for Muslim students to pray in. One of the pamphlets contained a list of what he said were atrocities perpetrated by Muslims around the world. The pamphlets warned Canadians to be on guard with the local Islamic population.

The case is seen as a struggle between two values in a free society. Religious tolerance and free speech.

I tracked the story of Mr. Harding across the internet several months ago. His story is heart-wrenching in some respects. The man was in ill health and no consideration was made for that by the courts. Even worse, NO RIOT ensued nor were any "hate crimes" seen following his open protest.

Question: do Canada's schools allow Coptic Christians or Ashkenazi Jews to go into the schools and teach children about their "cultures?" I doubt it!

Gary, you're stepping out and will likely see some backlash over this from some Muslims (I hope not, but this is, after all, online on paltalk). So have your techies ready for the room blitz that will likely come!

God bless you for being brave, Gary. You're a gem!

In a free society, free speech includes offensive speech.

It sounds like what Harding was doing was pretty reprehensible. But his right to say it should be defended!

I will be interested in hearing the specifics from his own mouth tomorrow!

I have heard Mark Harding speak about his trials and tribulations several times, his story is extremely interesting, and pretty enlightening.
From my recollection his speech was not offensive, just too honest for some people to stomach. Maybe the debate should be about what constitutes 'hate speech'.

Anonymous #2, what Rev. Harding did was simply to tell the truth!!! There was NOTHING offensive about what he spoke; and it's what he has had to undergo (and still is until his death, barring a miracle from Our Lord!!) that's TRULY reprehensible!!! In fact, it's downright REPUGNANT!!!!

May God Truly Honour Rev. Harding in Heaven with a wonderful crown of righteousness: sometimes, being a "troublemaker" for God's Sake is more than amply worth it!!!
