Ads that attack the character of Barack Obama. And guess what? The attack ads are working.
Latest poll indicates that McCain has erased the bump in the polls Obama got from his foreign trip. And that the campaign is a dead heat.
The sad reality of campaigning is this. A candidate may really want to take the high road. But in politics, seemingly nice guys finish last.

This is less a comment on McCain and more a comment on the voters.
We say we want more critical coverage of the candidates, yet we are swayed more so by the attack ads than we are by indepth coverage.
The other aspect of this story is that all those who declared the McCain candidacy dead had better take another look. Remember McCain was given no chance early during the primaries also!
