Russia Turns Sights On Poland

Russia, still digesting Georgia in its massive military stomach, is now salivating over Poland.

Poland, a member of NATO, will be receiving defense missile from the United States.

Russia, who has already warned the USA to back off and cease bringing humanitarian supplies to Georgia, is now telling Poland that the missile deal makes it a legitimate military target.

In other words, Russia is looking for an excuse to hit Poland and possibly take on NATO.

Worse, Russa says that nation could be attacked using nuclear weapons.

The Russian Bear was not put down with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the breakup of the Soviet empire. It's just been hybernating. And now it's awake and has a voracious appetite.

Those of you too young to remmember, explore history and watch how Russia marched across eastern Europe after the defeat of the Nazis. One expansionist totalitarian regime replaced by another.

The ideology may be different, but the tactics of communists and fascists remain the same, even today.

The Cold War is back :(

This is all a charade orchestrated by the Republicans.

That's right, the REPUBLICANS who encouraged Georgia to provoke Russia under the guise that the United States would come to Georgia's aid. Then stepped back and let Russia do its predictable thing.

Now we can clearly see that McCain is the new sheriff in town and he will take on the Red Menace when HE becomes president. Don't worry about Obama's response. He's been too busy enjoyng the sun and fun of Hawaii to respond to this "crisis."

The Democrats may have the best candidates and the best policies. But the Republicans always run the best campaigns. By hook or by crook.

Well I dont understand why doesnt anyone see Russia's point of view in the situation. Why should the United Sates be allowed to put missiles on russia's boarder. Who here is the bully? If you would put the shoe on the other foot for example , Russia placing missiles in Cuba for instance, then you would know how they feel. Oh wait! That already happened before. I forgot! And Kennedy gave them a similar ultimatum . Didn't he? Maybe if we stopped trying to take over and control the world we could have peace. Just a thought. Frizzy163

America had better make damn sure they elect a President who is strong and can deal decisively with these sorts of issues since they will no doubt be the types of issues of the future.
The Missile Defence Shield will bring danger to any nation who agree to have it cited on their territory.......... you see from the Russian Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn that the response to the placing of the shield could be Nucleur in nature - aimed at that nation. Now, last I knew Poland was in Europe - so the attack would be on Europe, not America, the nation responsible for the Shield. I remember when this was first proposed by Bush he laughed of Putin's response, saying that it was merely defensive, and aimed at protecting Europe. You know, it doesn't matter how Bush views it, it's how Russia views it that's the critical issue - if they see it as a threat then it's a threat. Bush is quite happy to play fast and loose with Europe - the immediate threat would not be to America, it would be to Europe.... America would have the chance to prepare, Europe wouldn't. The least Bush could do would be to admit that he was prepared to sacrifice Europe in order to protect America!

Oh stop!

The Russian army is a paper tiger ... er ... bear.

The Russians better watch out. They don't want to mess with the US military. Hoo-hah!

Russia needs nothing more than a crashed oil price to fix its wagon. That and a bloody nose for its actions in Georgia would suit me just fine. First, let's address the oil price issue. The myths of Pelosi and Reid, the Dumb and Dumber of the House and Senate, are dangerously easy to believe and very harmful to our nation. Both should be strung up for being two of the stupidest majority leaders in the history of the United States. (For proof of this, see Reid's comments on youtube about the fact that he considers income tax to be a 'voluntary' system in the United States, and Dennis Miller's diatribe response...) Pelosi tells us that drilling is no good cuz it takes 10 years to bring online. Bullshit, Nancy! I was in the oil industry myself and land-based drilling can occur at the phenomenal rate of 1000 feet per day provided nothing bad happens. While setting up offshore is a bit more time-consuming, in no one's universe does it take that many years to get SOME production out of the ground. LET ME MAKE IT VERY CLEAR TO YOU ALL: THE LION'S SHARE OF THE TIME THAT IT TAKES TO INCREASE US OIL PRODUCTION IS IN THE PERMITTING AND GREEN MADNESS AND REGULATIONS WHICH ARE CHOKING OUR PRODUCTIVITY! As an oil industry veteran, I am shocked that these people are allowed to speak at all in public, say nothing of having such powerful positions (2 deaths away from the whitehouse, Pelosi???) Pelosi wants to 'save the planet'. Indeed, Nancy, start by resigning from the House of Representatives. That will help the planet a great deal.

Back to Russia: The amount of coal reserves and oil shale reserves in the United States is absolutely phenomenal and extractable at prices FAR less than what we are paying now. It boggles the mind to listen to these greeny nimkampoops while our national security is at stake. What I recommend is that Bush or his successor (unless it's Barack Hussein Obama) issue an executive order to declare the known reserves as "national petroleum reserves" and that the US military, the current single largest consumer of oil on the planet, be given first dibs on this new production. The remaining oil would be used to flood the nation with cheaper oil and put the following dictators out of business: Putin, Chavez, Ahmedinejad, The Wahabis of Saudi, etc, etc. These guys are noticable for what reason? Cuz they are smart or natural leaders??? No way, Jose. They are being fed with high oil prices. The best way to shut them down and turn them off is to cut off their money supply. That, and freeze Putin's 40 billion $ of offshore (stolen) money assets. We are now at a critical point in our national security. We simply must not listen to the liberals this time. I do agree that it's in our interest to also be first in alternative energy resources like solar, wind and geothermal, but these are largely pipedreams at this point. Please understand that what I'm suggesting is triage. MILITARY-style triage! We simply cannot afford to be without US-produced oil any longer. We need to starve off the economies of the Wahabis of the mideast (namely Saudi) and the other petty dictators currently empowered only by the fact that they are standing on top of major oil reserves being producd at a horrendous price. The other alternative is military strikes, which has not worked out so well to date. Let's stick with economic starvation. I think we can all agree on that one. ;)

Why does media distort the truth? Russia only correctly indicated that the US Missle Defense system makes Poland a possible target should hostilities escalate. Having said that Russia does have the authority to use nuclear weopons against any alley of a enemy country that does have nukes, namely the US.

Russia never threatened to Nuke Poland, only warned them of the possible consequences of its actions.

Russia has the forces to take on china and the rest of the super powers. It sent one division in to take Georgia and it has at least nine hundred more. Any nation that has pissed Russia off. *gives sideways look at the US and steps away from them* look out. they now have the oil to do what ever they want.
