The New York Police Department is taking steps to better protect the city in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
Already hotels have been given additional security tips and cops have been posted at major hotels around the city.
On Thursday, a similar all-day event will be held for churches, synagogues and mosques.
And more police officers are being trained in using machine guns. Up until now, only elite units, like the Emergency Service Unit and squads that patrol the subway systems have been trained in machine gun use. Now every recruit will learn how to handle an M4 machine gun at the police academy.
Joining us again tomorrow on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com to discuss the security enhancements in New York and how they should be employed nationwide and in other countries will be former NYPD officer and counter-terrorism expert Gary Moskowitz.
