DEA Acting Like Pirates?

"Arrrrr mateys it's the DEA armed with a search warrant!"

Well, it's probably not quite like that. But Paul Armentano, senior policy analyst for the NORML Foundation in Washington, DC, says the DEA is acting like pirates when they raid legitimate marijuana dispensing operations like the four that the visited last week in Los Angeles.

Thirteen states have legalized the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. But despite President Obama's own use of marijuana in his childhood or youth, and his campaign pledge that he'd not let the Justice Department circumvent those state laws if elected, the raids continue.

"It's really, in a way, just legalized piracy," Armentano said during an interview today on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com.

The dispensing operations are easy pickings for the DEA. Armentano says they just look their locations up in the Yellow Pages, raid them, seize the marijuana and proceeds, and then leave the dispensaries in shambles.

Obama has been in office for 20 days. I'm surprised he hasn't changed the world yet.
