A Major Milestone

President Obama is heralding passage of the economic stimulus bill as a major milestone.

He travels to Denver, where he was nominated as the Democratic candidate for president, to sign the bill into law.

The president acknowledged that some people are skeptical about the plan given how Washington has performed in the past. But he says a website has been established, www.recovery.gov, where people will be able to track how the funds are disbursed.

"Ultimately," he said, "this is your money, and you deserve to know where it's going and how it's spent," he says.

Congratulations to Obama for setting up a site where we can see where the money is being spent.

In order to remain free we need openess in government. This is a good first step, whether or not you favored the stimulus package.

Yes........ and all web sites are 100% honest and open!! NOT

I realise that I am a sceptic where Obama is concerned - but please, come on. This is potentially another sop to the American public - the grand show, the flamboyant gesture - yet Obama remains shrouded in mystery.
There is a great deal of difference between what is done and what is seen to be done.

It's time for Obama to start talking positively.

All his negative talk is driving the economy down.

He needs to revert to his themes of hope and change.

Tuesday in Denver is his best opportunity to change his tone about the economy.

How much is it costing for him to go to Denver to sign the stupid bill? LOL Americans are turning into sheep. Be careful of the wolf in sheep clothing.
