Europe's Economic Woes Topic On Paltalk

We've been discussing, pretty extensively, the plight of the economy in the United States. And while we tend, sometime, to be a bit narrowly nationalistic in our coverage, there's no question that the global crisis was in large part a result of excesses on Wall Street.

But we've spent little time really examining what's going on elsewhere in the world.

On Wednesday, we'll focus on the economic problems of Europe. Problems that our guest suggests are much more severe than those faced by the United States.

In the USA, people are pretty vocal about the economy as they call into radio talk shows. But in Europe, citizens are taking to the street in protest. And Britain has put its troops on standby, fearing that anarchists will take advantage of the discontent and plunder and pillage.

Those are the observations of Danny Schechter the News Dissector, and author of Plunder: Investigating Our Economic Calamity and the Subprime Scandal.

Schechter, a frequent guest on News Talk Online on, will join us to talk about how the very mortality of the European Union and the euro may be an issue. And how the crisis is particularly affecting the emerging economies of Eastern Europe.
