News Talk Online May 18, 2009: First Obama-Netanyahu Meeting

All eyes will be on Washington today as the leaders of the United States and Israel meet for the first time since each took office to discuss Middle East peace.

For the first time in recent history, there are concerns among Israelis about the U.S. commitment to the Jewish state. Especially because President Obama wants to bring all the Arab nations into the peace process. And is pushing for a two-state solution.

The second issue is, of course, nothing new. All recent administrations, Democratic and Republican, have favored a two-state solution. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has broken from his predecessors. He's not ready to embrace the concept of a Palestinian state. Not while the Palestinians fail to recognize the legitimacy and borders of the state of Israel.

Netanyahu might not be easily swayed by Obama's charm. Last week he traveled to Jordan to meet with King Abdullah, who has been quarterbacking Obama's yet-to-be-officially announced Middle East strategy. He walked away still entrenched in his opposition to granting the Palestinians statehood.

We'll be tackling this thorny issue head on during today's News Talk Online on Paltalk.com at 5 PM New York time. CLICK HERE to join the conversation.

Finally a Jewish leader who 'gets it' The 'Palestinian Arabs' are not agreeing even in public that Israel even has any right to exist. It is suicide to go along with a two state solution when one state says the other has no right to exist. The Arab muslim palestinian liars - thieves - squatters - losers - suicide murderers - lovers of death - haters of all things good; do not deserve nor should they get a 'state' of their very own. These people would simple be the same only more brazen and try to murder even more fine peaceful Jewish people under the guise of the Jewish people being 'Zionist'. These muslim arab criminals lost their land because their leaders tried to kill off the Jews - the arab muslims will lose it all trying to take it back.
Long live Israel may God curse the Arab Muslim people of the NEAR EAST and the FAR EAST and the MIDDLE EAST too.
The reason oil and fuel is killing us is the same group - Arab Muslims the invaders of India - Africa - EGYPT is an example - the Arab Muslims cut out the Egyptians decedents tongues to enforce the use of Arabic -such scum to me is not worth talking with.

Nothing that is said at the moment, both by journalists or us little people talking about it or even by announcements from the White House will have any real meaning.
Give it a year and see what is happening on the ground and THEN, MAYBE, people will be able to start to understand what is really going on.

This is the most exciting piece of political news I have heard in a very long time. My first impression was that President Obama is just that charming. I believe it's going to work out wonderfully, even if its over a span of time.

Hello Gary, Thanks for posting the Youtube, I missed half the show yesterday. I just want to say that I agree with most of the points that Boaz said, after all I am glad that President Obama at least is trying to do something about that issue.
