Israel Has No Plans To Attack Iran
There's been a lot of speculation that if the international community is unable or unwilling to harness Iran's nuclear weapons aspirations that Israel will "do what it has to do" and take out the reactor before Tehran can order an attack on - say - Tel Aviv. But Israel's foreign minister is saying that those plans are not on the books.
In fact, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told reporters at the end of a three-day trip to Russia that Israel has no intentions of bombing Iran.
Of course, this could be a heavy weight boxer's feign to the left just before a right hook. But this comes from the most hawkish member of a hawkish Israeli government.
The other nuisance in Lieberman's statement is the use of the word "intend." He said "we do not intend" to bomb Iran. Perhaps leaving open the option in the future.
