News Talk Online June 18, 2009: Iran's National Day Of Mourning

Roya Teimouri of Persian Radio was the guest on today's News Talk
Online on Paltalk.com. With information about today's protests in the
streets of Tehran - silent protests on what was declared a National
Day of Mourning in remembrance of those who have been killed
demonstrating against Iran's stolen presidential election.

Teimouri reports 5,000 of the security forces on the streets of Iran
are not Iranians but Lebanese and Palestinian, brought in, she says,
by the government to try to forcefully put down the demonstrations.
She predicts that Friday's planned demonstrations following Muslim
prayers will likely pit pro and anti-regime Iranians against one
another and says violence is probable. She also says that if the
demonstrators really want regime change the first institution they
will attempt to take over will be the Media Center which controls the
flow of information both within Iran and to the outside world.

Isn't it coincidence while Iran fights for freedom of speech to get the word out about their country, we in the USA are being subject to more and more regulations, and presidential political moves to restrict freedom of ideas? His upcoming Healthcare TV program.. without opposition, and the network not allowing opposition, even if they pay for the time, and his claim that Fox News isn't giving him the free passes as all the rest of the major news networks are? So what is Obama so afraid of? He says he is transparent? He fires an Inspector General for doing his job, what is he hiding? Myself I watch all the news channels and I must be honest Fox is the only one who is right the majority of the time. ABC and MSNBC will tell you 1/5 OF THE TRUTH then they fill you so full of crap you cant tell what they are saying. Soon Obama will get Fox removed from the airways then he will do the same for the Internet. Hey that sounds just like what happened with Russia and now with Iran. Think about it no more freedoms unless it is what Obama wants.

hello Gary, just read the first comment about losing our freedoms and the author is quite right! Right before our very eyes this is happening here in the USA, and their seems no public outcry, none at all, just apathy. We do not know what is going on behind closed dorrs at the White House or even behind closed doors in communities and citys across this country Is there a revolt coming right here on the streets of the USA? We have learned that the government of Iran has had further support against the protestors come into the country from Hamas in Palestine and Lebanon and they are doing their dirty work against these mostly young people. And now since their mullahs have spoken and their high muckety muck, has given his edict, all cars are being searched and borders being checked for dissidents. A very dangerous time for protestors in Iran. They are taking these people away---- where is AWAY? and what will happen to them, time will tell and we must continue anyway possible to give our support to these people who are willing to sacrifice their very lives. wHO KNOWS IF WE MAY BE NEXT RIGHT HERE IN THE usa, AS WE SEE OUR FREEDOMS BEING TAKEN AWAY AND THE HAND OF THE GOVERNMENT TAKING OVER OUR PERSONAL LIVES!!!! jAMIE_38
