Let me start by saying that allegations of atrocities in war zones are made all the time. Many times they turn out to be nothing less than propaganda.
But now two Iraqi refugee is claiming horrific treatment of some gays at the hands of U.S. soldiers. The allegations were raised in Lebanon at the Human Rights Campaign headquarters at a fundraiser.
Thus far, as far as I can determine, the issue hasn't gotten play in the mainstream media. But the Washington Blade is reporting on it. As is AlterNet. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that the story may soon pick up some traction.
The military should get ahead of this one. And dispel it if untrue, or take quick and decisive action if really happened.
