News Talk Online August 12, 2009: 2 Perspectives Of The Health Reform Townhall Protests

Two guests on News Talk Online on had vastly differing views of the health care debate. But they agreed on one thing. The rhetoric needs to be toned down for fear of violence.

First guest was New Hampshire radio talk show host Jennifer Horn. Horn, a conservative and former GOP candidate for Congress was among those protesting outside President Obama's Portsmouth, NH townhall meeting yesterday.

Then author Frank Schaeffer, whose latest book, Crazy for God, outlines his fall from the religious right that he helped found, spoke about his concerns that extremist from among those ranks could hurt health reform proponents before this heated debate is over.

Why would I trust Obama with my health when he lies about the bill itself? Read the article LETTER TO OBAMA. He claimed at his Town Hall Meeting that Senator Isakson drafted end of life the bill he (Obama) is promoting. APPARENTLY HE FORGOT TO TELL ISAKSON!

Apparently Isakson is to much of a coward to admit to his own proposal.

This is a link LD for you to look at. I did pull out the highlight about Isakson in case fact checking becomes to much of a chore!

Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson, a Republican who co-sponsored a similar measure in the Senate, said it was "nuts" to claim the bill encourages euthanasia.

"You're putting the authority in the individual rather than the government," Isakson said. "I don't know how that got so mixed up."

Funny how I was able to fact check this in a minute and provide sources.
