If We're Going To Prop Up The Afghan Regime Why Not Iran?
Like Ahmadinejad's election, fix in on Karzai's
On yesterday's News Talk Online on Paltalk.com we discussed the situation in Afghanistan and asked guest Steven Kinzer, an award winning foreign correspondent and bureau chief, if anyone really knows any longer what the mission is. Originally a military action to capture those responsible for the 9/11 attacks, it's turned into what Kinzer calls "mission creep," where the mission has changed. Including, he says, providing security for the recent national election.
Now comes word from the Guardian newspaper that election ballots in Afghanistan pre-selected incumbent Hamid Karzai. So while we decry the sham election in Iran, we militarily support one in Afghanistan. Read More Here
