Now We Have 'Proof' Obama Is A Communist

Here we go again.

The blogosphere is aghast over news that the White House will be hoisting the communist Chinese flag on the south side of the White House. Proof, many argue, that President Obama is - well - not just a socialist but a communist.

The only problem is that the report, which originated in the China Daily, is it's wrong.

There will be a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. And the Red Chinese flag will fly at the event. But it won't be on White House grounds. Rather, it's scheduled for the Ellipse, on the other side of E Street. The Ellipse is a public space where - unlike in China - anyone, even foreign groups - can hold demonstrations. And, yes, they can even carry, or plant, foreign flags when they do.

Now, if you are among those who reached the conclusion from the erroneous reporting from the China Daily - picked up by news organizations in the United States - that this was proof positive that Obama is a communist, then what does this say about George W. Bush? I only ask because the last time the Chinese flag actually was unfurled on the White House grounds was in 2006 during the state visit of Chinese President Hu Jinato. And if memory serves, I believe Bush was president then.

the victory of the red army was a great moment for the chinese people. but that was then.

if you have to put a conventional label on the prc, they are simply the most advanced 'fascist' society on earth. the party is in bed with big business is in bed with labor unions is in bed with the party. god help you if you haven't got connections with at least one.

the american tree is embraced by the chinese strangler vine, in a mutually beneficial relationship which will not be good for america much longer. eisenhower got it half right: america is selling coca-cola to the grandkids. he got it half wrong too: they are buying up america, as well.

it's not the chinese flag that's the problem, it's the tee-shirts down at wal-mart.

I hope the China Daily makes a retraction.
