U.S.: Iran Close To Gaining Nukes

More mixed messages on the Iranian nuclear aspiration front.

On the heels of outgoing International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradi seemingly backtracking on his assertion that concerns about Iran's nuclear weapons gains where "hyped" comes the raising of another alarm.

The U.S. ambassador to the IAEA says Iran may already have enough low-enriched uranium to build a bomb.

This public pronouncement of the U.S. assessment comes just weeks before President Obama is scheduled to address the issue of non-proliferation at the United Nations - and could be the precursor to a stronger stance towards Tehran.
