News Talk Online October 29, 2009: Eleanor Smeal

Famed feminist Eleanor Smeal was my guest today on News Talk Online on the Paltalk News Network.

Smeal discussed yesterday's signing into law of federal hate crimes legislation, the disparity in medical care based on gender under the present system and efforts by the feminist movement to obviate human rights violations of women globally.

I wish I could have talked with Ms Smeal. Had I, I would have pointed out to her that the NOW did not respond for nearly a MONTH after the murder of the Said sisters in Dallas, in spite of the fact that a nationwide manhunt ensued almost immediately for their father- their murderer.

I also would have pointed out that several feminist writers have been quite critical of the lack of involvement of NOW when it comes to women's rights and Shari'ah law. Nowhere is this more clear than the laziness of her hero, Hillary, who has yet to address the issue of Child Custody and Saudi Shari'ah law which allows the man to have legal custody of a child and can leave a mother without recourse, even if shes' an American citizen.

I'm sorry, but NOW is as feckless as any other politically driven group.
