Ahmadinejad Rejects Western Nuke Demands

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is refusing to accept a deadline set by the United States and other western nations to send its enriched uranium elsewhere to ensure that its nuclear program be solely used for peaceful energy-creating purposes.

President Obama has said that Tehran must comply with the agreement to send its enriched uranium to Russia by year's end or face additional sanctions.

Ahmadinejad has now responded by telling supporters that his government will resist because it is "10 times stronger" than it was a year ago.

Dissidents who have been taking to the streets to demand reform in Iran might suggest otherwise.
