Congress Members Demand To Know How TSA Airport Screening Manual Got Posted On Internet
Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), chairwoman of the Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection, have sent a letter to Gale Rossides, acting TSA administrator inquiring about a recent breach of sensitive information on the Internet regarding transportation security screening procedures.
According to the TSA, the Screening Management Standard Operating Procedures manual was “improperly posted by the agency to the Federal Business Opportunities Web site wherein redacted material was not properly protected.”
Although TSA has removed the document from the government contracting website, others have uploaded it to their websites.
