Transportation Department Moves To Eliminate Hours Stuck On Airport Tarmac
Three hours on the tarmac.
New proposed Transportation Department rules would limit the time passengers could be held captive in planes delayed on the tarmac.
Three hours strapped in an airplane seat not moving is too long as it is. But at least there will be a limit to how long passengers would have to live with such an indignity.
Horrible stories have been reported about unsanitary conditions on planes left idling on the tarmac as toilets have filled. Not to mention the strained atmosphere in cabins.
