Brits Knew Of Northwest Airlines Suspect's Terrorist Ties

More disturbing news about the case of the would-be bomber of a transatlantic Northwest Airlines flight as it approached Detroit Metro Airport on Christmas Day.

The Sunday Times of London is reporting that British intelligence had Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on its radar and was aware of his links to al Qaeda when it was investigating him two years ago.

The revelation will renew demands for reviews of the relationships between various nation's intelligence services. Presumably an exchange of information like this would have increased the possibility that the U.S. might have put Abdulmutallab on a no-fly list.
