Chaos Gets In Way Of Haitian Relief Efforts
A chaotic scene in Port-au-Prince as no one has taken charge of relief efforts - and the confusion has resulted in needless deaths of more people some aid agencies say.
There are those who are calling on the United States to oversee the efforts. But others say that the U.S. is part of the problem.
Confusion always abounds in the initial days of response to a major natural disaster. But usually some semblance of order quickly ensues. Apparently, from the news reports, that's not yet the case in Haiti.
The near total breakdown of the government and civil order no doubt is a contributing factor as well.
