Full Body Scanners Ordered For Newark Airport
The international terminal at Newark International Airport has been selected to receive body scanners in the wake of the Christmas Day attempt to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight headed from Amsterdam to Detroit.
The suspect on that flight allegedly concealed chemicals he tried to use to blow up the plane in his underwear. Security experts believe the chemicals would have been detected had he been required to go through a scanner.
The scanners are anatomically revealing - causing privacy concerns for some.
