Gitmo Exit Doors Barred
The Obama administration has - at least temporarily - put the brakes on the closing of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center by halting the transfer of detainees to Yemen.
The reason for the sudden change in policy is the increasing threat of al Qaeda in Yemen in the wake of the failed attempt to bomb a U.S.-bound airliner on Christmas Day. The suspect got his marching orders from al Qaeda in Yemen.
Yemen security forces, meanwhile, have stepped up their campaign against al Qaeda in that country.
