Iran Gets More Defiant, Threatens To Make Own Nuclear Fuel

Iran has told the West that it has until the end of January to accept Tehran's counter-proposal to the demand that it ship its enriched uranium to Russia or it will make its own nuclear fuel.

The International Atomic Energy Agency and others have been imploring Iran to take steps to ensure that its nuclear program is only used for peaceful purposes. This continued defiance is seen as a clear indication that the nation intends to create a nuclear weapons program in violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The permanent five members of the UN Security Council and Germany are preparing to meet to discuss additional sanctions against Iran.
