Mob Justice In Haiti

With the breakdown of civil order in Haiti, mobs have begun meting out justice of their own on the streets.

A Toronto Star reporter and photographer recorded the scene in Port-au-Prince as a man - described by some in the crowd as a thief - was bound, dragged and beaten on the street and then set afire to die.

Some in the crowd described the man as a prisoner who escaped from a penitentiary after it collapsed in the earthquake.
