Record Number Of Terrorism Charges In 2009

There are those who argue that nothing's been done since 2001 - that the homeland in the United States is as vulnerable today as it was when four airplanes were hijacked on September 11 of that year to attack New York and Washington DC. But the number of terrorism arrests in the United States paint a different story.

A record number of people - more than 50 according to the Associated Press - were charged with terrorism by federal authorities in 2001 in the United States. A recognition of both increased vigilance - and an increased threat against both the homeland and targets abroad.
