This is especially terrifying.. due to modern sanitation, cholera has been close to eraddicated in the civilised world. HOW easily we forget how devastating cholera has been throughout history..... MANY MANY more people died after the great famine from the ensuing cholera, than starvation.... both in the UK & Ireland cemetaries are PACKED with headstones dating in the 1850's. Upon contraction, without proper antibiotics and forced fluids, people can DIE in as soon as 18 hours from contraction. AND... The dire conditions in Pakistan are RIPE for the same.- Leesah
