Welcome 2011! What are YOUR hopes for the New Year?
The New Year was ushered in with fireworks in Hong Kong, Manila, Moscow, New York City, Las Vegas and elsewhere.
Most New Year’s bring personal resolutions. But this year, given the continuing worldwide economic crisis, it may be more prudent to think about what we hope for humanity in 2011.
Gerald Celente, the futurist, predicts continued discontent over the economy – led by young people who see no value in getting college degrees that won’t guarantee them jobs. “Rate of return” on any investment, he says, is something everyone should keep in mind.
In the meantime, he fears a rise in crime as more people find themselves under-employed or unemployed. And continued erosions of civil liberties in the name of homeland security.
One shining bright spot for 2011, says the Trend Journal publisher, is in the area of alternative energy, which he believes will become a thriving industry this year.
Celente’s comments came during an interview on News Talk Online on the Paltalk News Network.
