Anthony Weiner’s resignation from Congress, the unseemly events that led up to it, and the horrific way it was handled even at the very end, is the top story on Thursday’s News Talk Online on the Paltalk News Network.
Former congressman and Talk Radio News Service Washington correspondent Bob Ney who, himself got into trouble while serving, said Weiner’s biggest problem was not his actions – there are no indications at this time that he broke any laws or violated any ethics – but the fact that there were sufficient numbers of fellow members of Congress who just didn’t like him. So they forced him out.
Ney also discussed the showdown between House Speaker John Boehner and President Obama over continued funding of the NATO operation in Libya. And attempts to trim the budget sufficiently to make a vote on raising the debt ceiling before August 1 palatable.
