Covering New York's silent march
It stretched 18 blocks down Fifth Avenue in Harlem to Mayor Bloomberg's townhouse on the Upper West Side.
Tens of thousands of people protesting New York City's stop and frisk policy. A disproportionate number of minorities, they argue, are stopped.
And it was a silent march. Once it got going, when I tried to conduct interviews, we where shushed up!

88-year-old woman bludgeoned to death in the Bronx

Today I covered the sad story of an 88-year-fold woman, Evelyen Shapiro, who was killed in an apparent robbery attempt, possibly while returning home with groceries to her fifth floor apartment in the Bronx.
Earlier I went to Brooklyn for a prayer vigil and rally for a young woman killed by a police officer at the end of a chase. She was in a stolen car that had been carjacked. His gun went off as he was trying to put the car in park after it ran into a utility pole killing the unarmed woman. Hear both of my reports at www.1010WINS.com.
