CABBY: I HIT HER AND SEVERED HER FOOT BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT!
Cabby Mohammed Himon (left) and Taxi Driver's Federation's Fernando Mateo outside Bellevue Hospital arguing that the accident which severed the foot of a British tourist who recovers inside wasn't Himon's fault but that of a bicylist that was "attacking'' Himon's cab. Himon, in fear, was trying to get away when he jumped the curb, they say.
At the news conference, which I covered for 1010 WINS, Himon said he was sorry and was praying for victim Sian Green. Mateo says a fund's been set up to help defray medical expenses. But Mateo also calling for stricter city laws governing bicyclists.
