FALLING DEBRIS, SNARLED TRAFFIC
It was falling debris from the covered roadway leading to Routes1 & 9 coming out of the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City that led to the roadway closure and snarled traffic. A motorist dialing 911 when they saw some debris on the roadway. The Jersey City cop that first arrived nearly hit when a larger chunk then fell down right in front of the police car. NJ-DOT pledged to reopen the roadway by 3 PM to avoid rush hour traffic jams, but it was to close again from 9 PM - 5 AM to finish the job. Latest traffic info on #1010WINS.
