HERE'S A STORY ABOUT A PIT BULL ATTACK WITH A DIFFERENT ENDING

Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a Good Samaritan. That's what one woman found out when she tried to separate two dogs fighting in East Elmhurst, Queens.

Michael is a familiar sight in this neighborhood. Pushing  his shopping cart, collecting bottles and cans to sell. His three pit bulls his constant companions. Known by neighbors to be gentle and quiet.

But the trouble began when the two females started fighting. And a woman from the neighborhood tried to separate them. That's when the male attacked. Tearing up, and breaking her arm.

She was rushed by EMS to Elmhurst hospital with what the FDNY says are "major arm injuries." But she's not angry. "She's my friend," Michael explained when I interviewed him for 1010 WINS. And the dogs' vaccinations, he says, are up-to-date.

So, no charges pressed. Giving Michael the opportunity to continue picking up bottles and cans. Along with his dogs.

More from 1010 WINS.
