1ST SAME-SEX MARRIAGES PERFORMED IN NJ
Joseph Panessidi and Orville Bell were the first of nine couples married by Newark Mayor Cory Booker after same-sex marriage became the law in New Jersey. Booker who declined to perform any marriages in the seven years he's been mayor until there was marriage equality in New Jersey compares the fight for equal rights for gays to the civil rights movement. And told me when I interviewed him for 1010 WINS that he will work as a U.S. senator for equality nationally.
