GIVING HOPE TO CHILDREN OF BATTERED MOTHERS

My friend, Linda Solomon, photojournalist extraordinaire, best known for her photos of celebrities, might be better recognized for her project Pictures Of Hope, where she teaches children of abused mothers in shelters how to use a camera and express themselves. Producing Pictures of Hope. The photos illustrate. Their simple words, "My hope is ..." followed by that hope. It's a healing process for the children. Gives them a feeling of empowerment and accomplishment. And the pictures are put onto greeting cards which are sold for $10 a package - the proceeds to - of course - help battered moms and their children. Today's exhibition (there are many in many states) at Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, NJ, which was turned into a photo art gallery for the official unveiling.
