The Boy Scouts of America have a New Year's resolution. Starting 2014, they're going to allow gay boys to join. In a story I filed for 1010 WINS, Donna Lieberman, executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union says it's a huge first step. But says advocates won't rest until the Scouts allow for openly gay adult leaders as well. That being said, she believes this will have a ripple effect, perhaps changing attitudes among youngsters and cutting down on bullying of gay kids. The Scouts are hopeful most churches that sponsor troops will continue their affiliation with Scouting.
