STUDENTS SAY AT THIS SCHOOL ACADEMICS ARE IMPORTANT

A new University of Illinois-Chicago study concludes that attractive high school students are more likely to get higher grades. But students I interviewed for 1010 WINS at the Validus Preparatory Academy in the Bathgate section of the Bronx say, that's not true. They say grades are totally based on testing here. And, in fact, some of the less attractive students seem to overcompensate by studying harder. So they tend, some students say, to actually get better grades.
