FORMER PORT AUTHORITY OFFICIAL AT HEART OF BRIDGEGATE SCANDAL TAKES THE 5TH

He was sworn in by the NJ legislative Transportation Committee - then refused to answer any questions. David Wildstein's emails and text messages led Bridgegate, the scandal over an unauthorized traffic study at the busiest bridge in the nation, the George Washington Bridge, linking New Jersey to New York City. A study that forced traffic onto the surface streets of Fort Lee, NJ. In apparent retribution for that city's mayor refusing to endorse Gov. Chris Christie in his reelection bid. Moments before he Wildstein appeared before the committee, Christie apologized for the muck up and announced the firing of a top aide. He also said he'd go to Fort Lee to apologize to the people there in person. Covering the story in Trenton for 1010 WINS.
