COPS SHOOT EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED WOMAN
Sometimes shootings of civilians puts neighborhoods on edge. But as people gathered at the corner of Brooklyn Ave. and Bergen St. in Brooklyn's Crown Heights to find out why the street was filed with cops and reporters, and as word spread over what happened, many commented that the cops used restraint. Restraint that may be the reason a woman in her 30s is still alive. Police say the woman - emotionally disturbed - lunged at two officers from the 77th Precinct with a 15 inch knife. But that only one of the officers fired. And only once. Striking her in the torso. She was rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
