HOLDER ANNOUNCES EXTENSION OF FEDERAL RIGHTS TO GAY SPOUSES

To thunderous applause, Attorney General Eric Holder announced at the Human Rights Campaign's New York gala that in a memo he will issue on Monday, he will order the federal government to recognize same sex marriages as equal to traditional marriages in all federal legal matters. That means, for example, same sex spouses won't have to testify against one another in federal court. Many attending I interviewed for 1010 WINS say they hope states that don't recognize same sex marriages will follow the fed's example.

More from 1010 WINS.
