1 PERSON KILLED IN MASSIVE EXPLOSION IN NEW JERSEY

It sounded bad, but at least, initial reports were, no one was killed. But that all changed around 5 pm. During a news briefing, the word was sent from the command post at the scene of a townhouse explosion. A body had been found. Turns out the victim is a woman. Her body found, burned beyond recognition, on top of the hood of a car in front of the home that blew up. No positive ID yet, but it's speculated it's the woman who owned the townhouse. In all, 55 townhouses damaged or destroyed in Ewing Township, NJ. Seven people hurt. Two contractors, who were drilling horizontally to install new electrical service to the unit and nicked a gas line. Five utility crew members who responded to the scene. The investigation continues to determine what ignited the gas.

More from 1010 WINS.
