CONGRESSMAN FACES FEDERAL CHARGES
His attorney says Congressman Michael Grimm, a Republican who represents Staten Island and part of Brooklyn, will soon be charged with campaign finance violations. It doesn't come as a complete surprise because there were leaks from the Grand Jury investigation. But this now opens debate over whether Grimm should resign. His attorney says he won't. That his client is innocent. And will successfully fight the charges. He also claims that this is politically motivated. Those district voters who are uring Grimm to stay in office agree with that allegation. That the Democratic administration is after Grimm because he's a Republican. But others say, once indicted, Grimm should step down.
