The swastika a symbol of peace and love? That's what the International Raelian Movement says it was - before the Nazis adopted it as their trademark. In an attempt to, as they put it, "rehabilitate" the swastika, the Movement rented a plane with a banner with a swastika on it. And flew it over beaches of Long Island and Coney Island. Mark Treyger, a New York City councilman for Coney Island and Brighton Beach, is as upset as are many of his constituents. He's contacted the mayor's office and the FAA to get some answers about how this disturbing display was permitted. For some, making matters worse, the swastika was depicted inside the Star of David.
